As pickleball has grown in popularity, so have the injuries. In this course Dr. Sergent will explain the biomechanics of hitting and strategies of play that lead to injuries. Participants will learn an eclectic approach to addressing the issues from manual therapies, adjusting, soft tissue mobilization through cupping and BFR, taping techniques, and rehab exercise.
Course Objective: The provide chiropractors and rehab professionals an understanding of the sport of pickleball and common injuries of pickleball players.
Jeffrey Sergent, DC is a graduate of National University of Health Sciences. He is a certified Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization Exercise Trainer (DNS-EXT) and certified Primary Spine Practitioner through the University of Pittsburgh (PSP). He owns Muscle and Movement Therapy in Cedarburg, WI, a multidisciplinary clinic that treats a variety of athletes from weekend warriors to professional sports players. Attached to his clinic is the Pickleball Lab, a pickleball facility that focuses on learning, training and performance of the game of pickleball. Jeff and Gina Cilento, a professional pickleballer, team up to develop and encourage players new and experienced. As a speaker Dr. Sergent lectures for doctors, CrossFit gyms, personal trainers and massage therapists on bridging the gap between rehab and performance.There is a one hour lunch break scheduled in for this event.
