Fixing the Foundation and Restoring Balance: A Deep Dive Into Corrective Exercise
Taught by a corrective exercise specialist, this seminar will focus on the science of human movement and use it to help achieve a better quality of life for patients. For some patients it may be just a reduction of the daily aches and pains and supporting activities of daily living; for others, it's injury prevention or enhanced recovery from injury. Those who dedicate time and money to their sport, or keeping fit, may need guidance to be more efficient and effective in achieving their goals. The purpose of this seminar is to teach practioners how to help patients by preserving joint health and increasing physical performance. Also, how to prevent patients from continuing the poor habits contributeicute to discomfort and risk of injury. Finally, helping patients prevent the loss of stability, balance, and the wear and tear that stop them from living the life they should.
In this course, participants will:
- Master the art and science of human movement to help patients reduce injury risk and maximize performance.
- Unveil the connection between our body's nervous system and musculoskeletal system teaching the body how to combat imbalances from sedentary lifestyles or injuries that lead to altered patterns and pain.
- Learn posture, movement, and mobility assessments to identify movement compensations getting to the core of dysfunction.
- Gain new tools for patient care to be the difference in a patients health journey taking care of both acute and chronic issues.
- Become an expert on how improving structure and function affects quality of life.
- Stretch your earning potential and work with a wider variety of patients, keeping patients with you through all of their phases of life.

Gina Scognamiglio, DC, CCSP, CPEP, CES Brief Bio : (CCSP ®, CPEP, CES) Dr. Gina is a highly skilled and experienced corrective exercise specialist with over 25 years as a chiropractor, health and fitness specialist. In addition to her Chiropractic degree, she has achieved a bachelor of science in human biology, certification as a posture exercise professional, and NASM certified corrective exercise specialist. She has background working in physical therapy prior to college where physical therapy was her focus at the University of Louisville. She also had a career as a competitive gymnast and collegiate cheerleader along with coaching both sports to lead her to where she is now. Throughout her career, Dr. Gina has worked with a diverse range of patients, from professional athletes seeking to optimize performance, ex professional athletes who want to hold on to their bragging rights, to individuals recovering from injury and aiming to improve their quality of life. She has worked with weekend worriers, industrial athletes, young and upcoming stars and gym rats. She specializes in identifying and addressing muscular imbalances, movement dysfunctions, and biomechanical inefficiencies through tailored corrective exercise programs. In addition to her work, Dr. Gina taught at Logan University in many areas, including gross anatomy, spinal anatomy, diversified adjusting and finishing up as part time faculty in the student clinic. She has a passion to teach her patients, students and colleagues to empower themselves and others with the knowledge and skills needed to help move better, prevent injuries, and achieve their physical goals. Dr. Gina is a dynamic person with an energetic teaching style and the ability to blend scientific rigor with practical application. She will emphasize the importance of understanding the body's functional anatomy and biomechanics, as well as the critical role that corrective exercise plays in long-term health and performance. As much as she loves what she does for a living, she loves being a mom more. Dr. Gina has 5 children who compete in gymnastics, play softball, baseball, soccer, hockey and volleyball. She recently remarried a man who brings laughter and light into every situation. Together, they demonstrate their commitment to leading a balanced and active lifestyle. |
